Tein 350Z H-Tech Owners: Please Vote!

I've been hearing mixed comments about the requirements for getting a camber kit after installing the Tein 350Z H-Techs. Can the owners of these springs chime in and let me know their experience? Also, if you need a camber kit, is it just for the front wheels only or all 4 wheels?

I'd like to try to avoid the added cost of a camber kit if possible...

the rears you can get back to oem specs since you can adjust but the front will require a camber kit IF you want to get within oem specs since you cannot adjust. my front is off by .3 degrees...which isn't much so i elected not to go with a camber kit. good luck.

Your camber will be off but within oem specs or very close. Just swap your tires from side to side a couple times over their life. It is not worth the price of camber kits and install.

how is switching tires side to side supposed to to extend tire life? your camber should be off the same amount on both sides and both sides should be negative.

i think what he meant was taking the right tire off, remounting it on the left wheel and vice versa.

It all depends on what you personally consider getting your alignment back to spec. The factory range is wide. I know of people that are riding just at the negative limit and just beyond. My G is a daily driver and I wanted my alignment to be dead center of the range. On the flip side, some people prefer to run a lot of negative camber for tracking purposes. My friend does this, but spends a ton of cashola for rubber on his M3.

I plan on lowering my G more than the 350Z H-Techs afford. Currently, my right front is at limit, which is -1.3. The left front is at -1.9. The rears are dead center per the factory alignment range due to the SPC camber/toe bolt combo. Hopefully, the front alignment will be resolved soon with the new SPC front camber arms. Hmmm . . . Are you riding on stock wheels? I upgraded from the OEM 19's to a 255/285/35x19 combo. I am sure that had something to do with my negative camber with such a conservative drop.

Regardless, be prepared to potentially pony up some $$$ for camber components or possibly experience premature tire wear. There are no guarantees.

I have the g35 h-techs put on about 3 weeks ago. The shop that did the install couldn't get the allignment perfect. I took it to the dealer and they say they have it alligned perfectly to factory specs. The g35 h-techs lower the car only 1 inch so it isn't too hard to get it alligned right. The 350z h-techs lower 1 1/2 inch so it might be a little harder to get it to factory specs. Some people say it isn't worth it to buy camber kits but I would have if necessary. PS2's are too expensive to prematurely wear out. I've seen a couple of camber kits for $400. I'd rather get that than new tires every 6 months.

I bought 2 cars in the span of a month so I was being cheap with my springs and wheels. After I recover I will do some upgrading. I drove my Lexus with Tein CS today....gave it a little shakedown. I realize there is a huge difference between coilovers and springs. The CS are in the future for the G.

Thanks for the reples and votes guys.

As I suspected, it's about 50/50 odds that you can get it back into specs. I guess I'll just bite the bullet and hope for the best. Worse case scenario is I'll have to buy front camber kits only, right? It seems that the drop on the rear is very conservative and the fact that it is adjustable seems that rear cambers will likely not be necessary.
