wheel bearing??

At speeds between 10 and 25mph i get this squeek, kinda like a wheel bearing coming from the left side. It goes away while I brake and comes back a couple seconds later after I release the brake. I'm sure that this is a wheel bearing sound but I just want to make sure before I go to the dealer. Also has anyone else gotten this and will it be covered under warranty?

Re: wheel bearing??

I very much doubt it's a wheel bearing. It would have to be bone dry for it to squeak. It's prolly a glazed brakepad causing the noise. This is a common issue with our G's .

I don't think it's the wheel bearing. Because it should be a grinding sound. And as you accelerate, the pitch of sound will increase and then kinda disappear at a higher speed. Anyway, should this be the wheelbearing, it wil definitely be covered by warranty.

Re: wheel bearing??

If it is coming from the rear, I quarantee that its the spring on the rear brakes that goes across the tensioner for the e brake. I had the same noise and had the dealer look at it he said he counldn't find it but after my friend and I took the rear rotor off, for some reason the spring had come off and was rubbing against the rotor. When I first took it to the dealership I described it as a wheel bearing.

If it were the wheel bearing, it would be constant at all speeds and get louder the faster you go as other members have mentioned. It's probably the brake pads and nothing I'd be concern with unless it lasts a long time.
