Strut tower bolts - rust

So I've been doing a ton of research, getting myself psyched-up to replace my own springs soon. I notice that the nut/bolt on my front spring/strut assembly (as viewed from under the hood, where the assembly mounts to the car at the top) look really rusty. Not the 3 nuts that hold it in, the single one in the middle.

As shown here:

I know I'm gonna need to take that apart to get the top off, to get the spring out. My concern is breaking that nut loose is going to be a pain, or worse yet the bolt snapping in which case I'm f'd! Anyone else have this rust issue?

it might be easier if you can take it to a place w/ a spring compressor unit. If you compress the springs so it doesnt push against the top mount, it might be easier to undo.

spray some WD40, let it sit for 5-10min, then crack it loose while
it's still on the car. don't loosen it too much. just maybe 1/2 ccw turn.

otherwise it makes it harder to remove the entire strut from the car.

Word, I would definately compress the spring first. Its easier and simpley less dangerous.

kenchan has the right idea, I usually spray WD40 or similar lubricant and just let it sit.
