They'll fit, but your fender/tire gap is going to be much more pronounced and the car will look higher. 'XL' stands for extra load. If anything, i would do 245/40 all the way around.

The RE050A PP's are very good tires. The PS2's will last a little bit longer though.

The difference is 1" in Outer Diameter. You're right, the stupid SOBs don't have a 45 series tire. Since the original Pilot Sport was OEM, you'd think they would know better. 225/45/18 is a hard size to find in any brand. If it were me, and I was staying with the stock wheels. I would go with 245/40/18 in front and 245/45/18 or 255/45/18 in back. This would fit fine, maintain the stagger and reduce some of the understeer. You would have to go with a different brand of tire though. I like the Dunlop Sport Maxx.

However, if you're dead set to get the PS2s - You could put the 245/40/18 on the front and 255/40/18 on the back. You would still have a stagger, though it would only be 1/2", not the 1" stagger that's stock. I "think" the VDC would be OK with this. Also, the back would be 1/2" (2%) less in OD than stock. But, IMO, this combo should work.

Good Luck

Lou
