I was looking at racing pads, but it says for "track use only" - I don't see why it wouldn't be fine (along w/ upgraded lins and slotted rotors) to use on the street. Am I missing anything?

They'll most likely eat through your rotors much faster than normal. And your pad life will be shorter too.

NO! Do NOT use track only pads on the street! Everyone thinks having *da racing parts* on your street car must be tEh uber cool thing. It's not.

Track pads are meant to operate well when hot. When you race, the pads are hot all the time.

Street pads need to operate well when COLD. ie.. the one time you need to jump on the brakes to avoid plowing into the car in front (namely ME as I live in your area! haha). Street pads need to work when cold, warm and decent when hot.

Track pads need to work when HOT, HOTTER and FAWKING REALLY HOT. That means they will suck ***** when they are not warmed up.

Lesson for today done.

Also, while a much more minor of an issue than poor operation while cold, track pads will typically dust more and squeel more. Don't forget too that track pads are quite expensive. My Pagid Oranges were $200 just for the front axle. The Axxis Deluxe Plus pads I run on the street are more like $45 or so.

Oh, yes, and while my car is mostly loaded, I just want to make sure if I do or don't have the Brembo brakes. I assume if I have the Brembo setup, it would say "Brembo" on the calips, correct? (I purchased used and that's one thing I had forgotten to check on)

Uh, you wish you and the Coupe brembos!

Some race pads work pretty well on the street but most are very noisy, dusty and abraisive on the rotors. Not recommended for long term daily use but fine for driving to the track and back.

Would that Stage II coupe brembo work on my sedan w/ 17"?
