Brake Pads Low???

In the morning now I have a squeek for about 3 minutes. Then they are quiet. Is there an easy way to check if my pads are low. I bought the car used about 4,000 miles ago. its at 46k right now.

You can eyeball it through the wheel but the best way is to take off the tire and check since the pads can be wearing unevenly. The squeeking usually is a sign that you need to replace.

If you are uncomfortable checking yourself, you can always take it to the dealership and they usually will check for you since they want your business.

I would say you need pads. my first set of pads were replaced at 25K and now I need another set at 44K

You need a brake micrometer to measure the pad and rotor thickness and a clamp on dial gauge to measure [set] the rotor runout within 0.0005".
