I called the deal to find out the consequences to removing the tps when i instal aftermarket rims
they said that i would have to mount a tps monitor
or else the alert would always go off and the car will not go above 65mph
after much research i can see that the the alert will only go off after about 35miles of driving
but none have mentioned the the car toping out at 65 so i jus wanted to confirm
so anybody with a 05+ sedan and mayb a an 06+ coupe have installed rims w.o. the tps
does the alert turn on only after 35+ miles and does the car top out at any point?

i dont have tpms in my aftermarket wheels, neither do any of the G's i know, all our cars go well above 65 mph.

but it hasnt stopped me from going past 65mph lol

 

so the light stayes on ... thats weird everyone is saying that u have to drive 35+ miles before it turns on....does the alarm go off too?

 

it all depends on the car, my light stays off until atleast 40 miles of 80+ driving, then i turn the car off and back on and it goes away. some people's, like Cal's always stay on. The alarm isnt affected by TPMS, it has nothing to do with it in any way shape or form.

I have an 06, and mine turns on when I start it up. Do you still have your TPS sensors? There are many ways now to get them mounted to any aftermarket rim. If your rim doesn't accept the TPS's from your stock rims, then you can mount them using bands to the barrel of the wheel. I don't understand why this is still an issue for people.

 

Can you direct me to where I can purchase these bands.

 

well from the pics ive seen the senser consists of the valve stem connected directly to the senser inside the rim.
my racing hart c4s have a valve stem already installed and the valve stem points directly down when on the side were the rim is mounted so the stock tps wont fit

f1 offerred to drill holes in my works to fit the tps in there. i said hell no. didnt want to drill into my wheels that i just spent a grip on. the light isnt that big of a deal, you get use to it.

 

i was able to keep mine on my wheels
