Exclamation *** POLL: How many of you put aftermarket shocks when you swapped springs? ***

If you didn't put new shocks on when you swapped the springs please let me know if you've encountered any problems. (bouncy ride, blown shocks, etc.)

Thanks,
Anthony

I used my OEM Sport shocks when I installed my OEM 350z spring/front and coupe springs/rear. However, the spring rates on the 350Z springs & Coupe springs matched my OEM sport springs on my sedan, but just lowered the car.

FYI: I plan on putting a set of Tein 350z H-Techs on and I was hoping to get some feedback from those who have experience with this setup.

My coupe does not have the sport suspension and dropped my car w/ the Eibach Pro Kit and haven't encountered any problems. I got a 1" drop all around and the car rides tight. I plan on buying aftermarket shocks in the future.

I put H&R springs on my stock sport struts but am now changing to D-specs. There were no problems, just not happy with the performance.

Would you mind elaborating a bit on this?

Thanks

I was lowered on Eibach Prokits with stock non-sport struts. The ride didn't seem to bad, but I came across a set of D-Specs for a good price so I jumped on them. I do remember the splash guards on my sedan would bottom out in hard corners before the D-specs.

Sure, the oem sport struts are made to ideally work with the spring rate and height of the stock springs. They do work with aftermarket springs but the performance is not as good as it would be with better struts. I am changing to Tokico D-specs so I can adjust them for different driving conditions. I want to be able to have a softer valving for street driving and then make them harder for track days or mountain runs. The sport struts on my car now are just too soft for spirited driving.
