suggestion for non-brembo brake pads/rotors combo ??

so my G sounds like a cheap POS with it's ridiculous squeeling ... though the pads are most likely not all used up, i want to run as far away from stock.

I had a similar prob on my maxima, and even changing pads, thje squeel was there .. so i'm tinking of doing both the rotors and pads.

I want to get coated slotted rotors .. i'm thinking powerslots. There were some deals on my350z for em ..

any suggestion for pads?

thanks guys

I would avoid major brake changes unless you plan to increase power a lot.
A lot can be done with just better pads, and maybe longer lasting rotors. The right combo should be quieter too. Dirty wheels and fast rotor wear were the real problem, esp 03 and 04.
Tires make the ultimate determination for stopping distance.
Unless there is some kind of malfunction, the stock G35 has no problem stopping, IMO.

not so much the stopping power I need ... just want something that will last long and not squeel.

I was hoping for the slotted look too ...

thanks for the stoptech suggestion! I think it looks like my best bet for now ... i priced out other options and they were just as much, if not more, than the combo kit.

any other suggestions?

I agree. That's why I said better pads and rotors may help both wear and noise. Braided brake lines and using a different brake fluid will do nothing to help either situation.

you're right, the SS lines and and definitely the fluid, I'm not too concerned about.

If I were to just do the pads/rotors, i can save on installation because I'm willing to do that myself.

Question: can the SS lines be installed without the removal of the caliper/rotors??

I did some pricing and it wasn't much difference between that kit and buying slotted rotors/pads separately.

Racing Brake is another option. Others on the forum have the BBK and like them (also reasonably priced for slotted rotors). For just over 1k you can get the basic BBK kit.

Interesting options. I think many of us would be interested in experiences of owners using different pad and/or rotors and how they hold up as far a wear, performance, less dust, and noise.
