Help.....No pressure when braking

This happened to me yesterday morning on my way to work. Before, I can barely step on the brake pedal and my car would begin to slow down. Now I have to put the pedal all the way down to the floor before it even begins to slow down at all. I checked the brake fluid and it's still full, the brake pads are new, have the Project Mu on there for about 6k miles. Is there anything I should check? I have an appt. to drop it off at the dealership tomorrow. I have a feeling they're going to blame it on the pads somehow anyone else have this problem or am I the only one? This is kind of scary, I keep thinking that my brakes are going to go out. Thanks everyone.

what could be the cause of that? performance wise, my car is completely stock, except for the brake pads.

I don't think I would be driving the car if the brakes are acting that way. You will be endangering your life and others too.

Does sound like the master cylinder though...

I still have no idea, nor does the dealership. I dropped it off last Thursday and they have had my car ever since. They've called me every morning since it's been dropped off and even the techs have no idea what is wrong with it. They did say there there was a leak somewhere that affects the ABS and they fixed it but you still have to push the pedal all the way down to the floor to slow down. I'm still waiting for them to call me this morning for an update. I'm in no hurry to get it back, it's not like I don't have a car, I've been driving the loaner ever since. I just want them to take their time to fix it right the first time since this could be very dangerous for me and others around me if it's not fix correctly. I will keep you posted as I find out any new info.

interesting.... as everyone said, master cyclinder is usually the culprit when you have to pressure on the brake. there could be an air bubble in the lines. its odd that the dealer has no idea.

Well I know that there isn't any air bubbles in the lines b/c that's what they originally thought as well. So I had them flush out the brake fluids, and afterwards my brakes still weren't working properly. So I'm sure they're going to bill me for the flush since they said it's not covered under warranty and I didn't even need it. $169 out the window. I wonder if I can get out of not paying it. Is it possible do you guys think?

Ok, just picked my car up last night after having to leave it at the dealership for a week. Looks like there was a leak in the actuator. It affected both my ABS and the lose of pressure in my brake pedal.

Glad to hear you got it fixed. Was it under warranty?

Not sure which one was leaking b/c it wasn't on the paperwork and the tech had left for the day. But am glad that it is now fixed and yes it was under warranty. However I did have to pay for the brake fluid flush.

If they told you that you didn't need the brake flush and you insisted..then I can see why you need to pay for it. BUT, if flushing it was part of the overall debugging of the problem, then you shouldn't have to pay for it. Basically, if they needed to try to flush it to see if it solved the problem...then that shouldn't be on your dime.
