Stock Rotors: Warped
#16
"My brand new rotors are so much better than my old warped worn heat cycled rotors"..................and what else is new.
The same as saying WOW my brand new tires feel so much better than my old bald wornout heat cyled hard feathered 20,000 mile tires.
New well made components always feel better than used worn components.
The question/challenge is to compare components with EQUAL 10,20,30k on them.

My issue isn't that new rotors feel better, but that I had to replace my rotors at 26K. I have never had to replace rotors on a car with that low mileage. Especially considering that I do not hammer my brakes - I hardly ever use them. The old front pads were just a hair thinner than the new replacements - but the rotors were warped?!?!?
If you want to compare new parts to old parts - my 2000 Maxima SE has 90K on it's original rotors, second set of pads. It has taken a lot more abuse on mountain roads than the G35 (which hasn't been to the mountains). It's brakes are perfectly smooth - the G35 brakes should be better in every regard - yet at 26K I am already replacing brake parts.
My last tundra went through some brake rotors, but it had well over 200K when I sold it. It's brakes didn't vibrate.

This device will limit over torquing and allow all lugs to be tighten equally within +- 3-4 pounds.
The oem spec is 72-88 pounds thus 80 ft/lbs stick is ideal.
Owners should buy one to keep in car incase of on the road mishap where mom and pops might not have one.

More people complain about braking noise than component wear [as pads and rotars are already defined as wear components].
Soft fast wearing pads and rotors are always quieter than harder longer wearing components plus they have higher friction ramp up for faster stopping at low pedal pressure.
The first few tenths of a second in braking is where all modern gains have come from because ABS limits the peak G load to match tires and temperature.
At 60 mph a tenth is 8.8 feet loss or gained.
Nissan can easily increase the noise and braking distances by increasing the hardness of rotor and pads...............just as many aftermarket products do!
Better to let the customer make that mistake in selecting aftermarket products..............same with tires let the customer select their own poison!
