Spring compressor...

How important would it be to have one handy when installing springs? I've done it without on a few hondas' but it was a bit scary when you pop the top bolt off. Do i really need it for the G?

yeh, youll need it.

you can probably get one from your local autoparts store. i think autozone lends them out for free (with a safety deposit).

Yeah' I checked with them it's free w/ $55 deposit. I used to just unbolt that bolt into a wet patch on the grass, but it was still scary... I'll probably do it this weekend. thanks

how are you going to put them back on?
you might not need compress to pop it off.
but you have to compress it to screw the
top bolt back on.

You can take them off without a spring compressor, although I wouldn't recommend it. You'll need it to put the springs back on the front struts though. I bought a set at Harbor Freight a few years back. Used it a few times, and got my money's worth.

i'd thought i needed spring compressors when doing mine but when it came to it, i didn't even touch after removing and replacing one corner without it... it was more cumbersome and trouble using the spring compressor. my cousin had a set already so i didn't have to rent or borrow from autoparts store.
