For those who have Richie STB

Here is the story:

I posted to explain my VDC kicked in excessively two weeks ago. I could not find the answer and the solution until yesterday. After work, I took my car to a local mechanic who dose great tuning work and knows a lot about my car. I briefly explained what have happened lately then he took my car for a test driver with me in the passenger seat. He asked me what mod I have done recently? Any suspension mod or different size tires in front and rear? He pointed the STB and said this may be the reason why VDC kicked in very early and tried to adjust the front exccessively after I poped the hood. I really love the increase in chasiss regidity and quicker steer response gained by the STB. With VDC off and the even higher speed in the same corners, there was no slip and oversteer at all. Dose anyone have the same or similar situation?

Nope....Sorry.

After pushing it really hard, I notice no difference in VDC function, on or off.

I hate to break it to you but your mechanic has no idea what he's talking about.

I havent experienced any problems with VDC on or off. Car holds better and feels tighter in turns.

maybe your VDC was suppose to come on - are your tires balding? were you driving over loose gravel?

My slip light has been coming on over and over again since I had rear tires replaced with Dunlop sport maxx but same size as stock. Car just acts pretty wierd in corners. Both front and rear tires are like new. Will different brands of tire throw vdc on?

if tires are same size shouldn't be a problem...check your brake pads....also make sure on the driver's side stru t bar mount, that it is not interfering with the ABS line, its right next to it.

My VDC is always off. I only use it in bad weather. I'll go try it out and see.

Thanks for help. My slip light was on when my car ran without braking at all. I have EBC rotors and ceremic pads in front and Metal master pads in the rear. Does this really matter to slip light?

had a prob once with my slip light under hard braking, couldn't figure out what it was, but my pads were totally worn dow, needed a new set....i attributed the malfunction to that i guess.

check that ABS line by the STB mount....thats the only thing i could think of.....maybe trying an ECU reset too?
