For a mainly street driven car with some auto-x the cuscos will be a better bet. The flex are known to be too harsh for the street with 12kg spring rates although they can tolerate a +/- 2kg swing without revalving if you don't mind paying for an extra set of springs. If you get the cuscos get the ones with the rubber mount since it's been commented that the pillow ball mounts are a bit harsh and the benefits don't outweigh the cons.

Zeal's are 9 million times waaaaaaaay better than Tein Flex. you sound like you know your products. good job. People here on these boards worship Tein, lol. you ask Anyone in Japan, they'll tell you Tein is not the best. Bang for buck, they're ok.

Zeals are $$$ but according to every review I've ever read on them they are worth it. Excellent valving hands down. At the $2500 range you should consider these.

I never plan on buying tein, JIC, Greddy, ksport, dsport, apexi.. (I might have missed some) coilovers. I feel that they have horrible valving compare to other brands such as zeal, cusco, hks, KW, tanabe, stance, silkroads, and ohlins. I have heard and researched various forums where people actually dyno test the coils or have racing experience, not just amature street driving. If valving is done correctly, coilover should never rattle your teeth. Lots of Japanese coils use marketing tactics saying "30-way adjustable, 35-way adjustable..etc etc" I don't feel like digging up all the information so just take this as my 2 cents

Oh, I feel that the best possible option right now would be the unitech/treuchoice coilovers but they are around 3k

You should search around my350z.com as they have much more real world experience rather than street driving that most of us G35 owners do.
