Ultimate Suspension!

Very new to the g35, know a little but not much.

If anyone could help me out with info on the 'best' coilover kit for a 2004 g35 with brembo's i would really appreciate it.

In the past, different cars, ive used cusco, tanabe, DMS

Suggestions welcome, under the $2500US mark.

thanks again!

what is "best" to you? what exactly will you be using them for? tracking? daily driving? how stiff of a ride are you willing to take?

btw, welcome to this forum. i don't mean to come off harsh, so don't take it personally..but there is a separate forum for this type of thread:

Brakes & Suspension:
https://g35driver.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=164

search and read around the forum as there is lots to be learned.

Thanks for the quick reply i appreciate it.

As for driving, yeah i guess i should have listed that:=)

Mainly street, sometimes autoX.

I was lookin at the zeal function-Xs.

thanks again,

PS i really like the ride of say dms, there pretty soft on the street but i hit the track and they really stiffen up. DMS is a linear spring system if remember right.

I have Tein Flex as well. On the softest setting, they are quite a bit firmer than stock and they get firmer from there if you dial them up. I had to get EDFC because the wife was complaining when she was a passenger. Now, I just push a button before she gets in and everybody is happy.

Tein seems to be a popular choice for a wide range of vehicles and i think they are pretty reasonably priced.

At the absolute best [regardless of price] suspension mods can only affect handling by 10%, with tires being the other 90%...[some experts say 5% and 95%].........most simple spring sway bars mods are lucky to change things 3%.

Don't confuse steering wheel feel or body roll for actual increases in skid pad performance......

Professional training in driving on the edge can usually beat the finest mods.

I have to say one every other car ive done, coilovers were a huge improvement; along with sway bars, rubber bushing replacement and tires.

First & most what is the main purpose for you to get coilover. I mean are you planning racing, auto X or is it simply a daily driven car? There is no such thing as ultimate coilover kit. What's important here is what kind of ride, handling are you looking for. You can allways go with Hks coilover along with a set of Stillen or Hotchkis sway bar. You can also take the different route by going Tokico adjustable shock with a set of Hotchkis springs... Which ever set up you decided to go, just make sure to do a lot of research.

Upgrading the nut behind the wheel is always the best mod!
