Question Searched lowering, still have questions.

I just purchased some 19" AME's from d2autosport, 19x8.5f and 19x9.5r and they wont be here for about 10 weeks. I have an 06' 6mt sedan with sports suspension that I want to lower. Seems that most guys are happy with revised Z springs all the way around but some say that the rear sits to low with these. I also read that using 04' coupe springs in the rear allows the sedan to sit just a tad higher than the rear z springs which makes the gap in the front and rear about the same. BTW I think i'll be mounting 245/35 tires up front and 275/35 or 30 in the rear. I want to get a jump start on this before the rims get here so any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you only want to drop it on the Zf/coupeR springs combo then i'd suggest getting a 245/40 275/35 tire setup to reduce the fender gap. If you want to go lower then i'd get coils and drop it atleast 1.5/1.2 and go with the 245/35 275/30 tire setup.

If you are going to use the revised Z springs please make sure you either get the same year Z shocks or D specs.

^ +1 you may need a camber kit too either front or rear to get more life out of your tires.

Normally with a drop on z springs or coupe springs, camber kit is not necessary. The front will have about a -1.1/-1.4 camber. If using the coupe specs for alignment, that is pretty close to the max allowance.

Thanks for all the reply's and input. Jameyb has been giving me a little extra insight as well. With the $$$ I am spending on the rims and tire alone i'm on sort of a budget for now so thats why i'm interested in this setup. With what you guys and Jameyb have said it sounds like revised z springs alone for the front and 06' coupe springs and shocks for the rear will work. Hopefully I wont need to get a camber kit right away. I dont drive that aggressively and I dont have the $$$ right now for an aftermarket coilover setup. As for tires, if I have to have a thicker ratio up front to offset the fender gap I will probably do a 245/35(f) and 275/30(r).
THANKS, and keep the input coming.

I will be selling my 06 z suspension, just giving you a heads up. Has about 1500 miles on it.

Why is that? Didn't you just install it?

I was very happy with my previous springs which were progressive H&R 1.3/1.2 drop. If I ever get around to taking them off my struts I will be selling them.

Was told sport suspension shocks are good to handle the revised Z springs (same spring rate).

I plan on using Energy Suspension Coil Spring isolator in the rear to raise the back a tad.

Eventually you are probably going to kill the shocks. The rear spring rate on the revised Z springs is much higher than the sedan sport suspension rear spring rate (427 v. 342 as reported by Gsedan35).

The sedan sports suspension rear springs have the same spring rate as unrevised rear Z springs.
