2003 G35 Sedan Brake Problems
Hey guys, it's my first post on this forum.
I'm the owner of a 2003 G35 Sedan 6MT with non-brembo brakes. My car has developed a nasty braking sound. It's not the usual high pitched sound, but instead it's kind of medium pitched.
After doing some quick searches on the internet and on this forum, I found out there was a recall because the brakes wear out too quickly. I learned that Infiniti gives a 3 year free brake replacement extended warranty for this car, but when I called the dealer, they flat rejected me (I was 2 months past the time limit )
I have a couple of questions to ask you guys. I am not a car expert so help me out here.
I have read on the internet that this problem only applies to the automatic version of this car. Is that true?
Does this problem lie with the brake pads or the rotors? or both?
I have heard replacing them with the stock rotors and brakepads will only have this problem happen again. If I buy aftermarket pads/rotors, will this problem be fixed, or will they at least last longer?
If so, I've been looking at the Hawk HPS brakepads and Stoptech rotors. However, the place I'm looking at only has slotted and drilled. Would that work with my car or would I need something special to use that?
Thanks in advance for the replies

The mass, weight, and thickness were too small for the agressive driving in US. Our high speeds on Interstate and exceeding limits where not really taken into consideration until the accountants were force to bend over.
Infiniti has progressively enlarged, and thickened the rotors in subsequant years.
The 2008 will have 14" x 33mm front rotors more than twice as thick as 2003.

I have an 03 sedan 6mt. Your car was covered under the warrantee as well. The just replaced the parts with the same OEM equipemnt the car came with. I had my brakes replaced 3 times within the 36K miles. After that I replaced the breaks with some parts I got at Autozone. Never had to replace them since. On another note my car has not stopped as well as when the OEM parts were on either.
