1. But I took the wheels off..
2. unscrewed the two caliper bolts inself..
3. took off the brake pads..
4. covered all the rotors and internals
5. Four thin coats of gold..
6. two layers of clear coat..
7. dry and put everything back together..

It came out really good.. cant see in those pictures in the link.. but you get the idea..

Quote: I used this product as well. I didn't have any dust issues on the brakes. This paint needs to dry for at least 24 hrs. I left it to dry, over the weekend, with the wheels off.
That's a long time to wait. I want to paint mine too but I cant wait for 24 hrs.
What is the shortest time that paint needs to cure?

Joker,

It says on the directions, “The paint requires 2 hours’ curing time before reinstalling wheels. Do not use vehicle for 24 hours to allow the paint to fully harden”

Rent a car for a day; hertz is like $15.

nah. just take your time and mask it off well if you're not disassembling anything. one tip though with the G2, mix half first so it doesn't dry up on you - from ppl on the IS300 forum i used to be on.

Just do it one weekend day and hang out until the next or catch a ride if you are going out.

I just used some high heat spray paint from a local auto parts store didnt even take the calipers off just taped everything off and used some cardboard. Then I put some grease on the part of the pads that show waited for it to dry then just whiped the grease off so no paint was on the pads. Worked awesome and dried fast.

Our stock calipers are too puny to paint them a flashy color.

Stick with black.

It's customed...My friend is in the forging industry for wheels & he owed me a big favor therefore I didn't pay any $$ for it. Otherwise it's around 4K with tires
