Best Rotor for 05+ Coupe (non-brembo)

I'm in need of some rotors for my 2005 coupe 6mt.

Any advice on which is the best rotor to buy, besides OEM?

Here you go.

I'm working on a sponsorship package and hopefully will be able to offer a group buy for RacingBrake parts. Stay tuned.

Currently available are the StopTech, Rotora and Racing Brake rotors. The StopTech and Rotora's both weigh 22lbs/ea (same as stock) but the Racing Brake rotors only weigh 17lb/ea so you'd be saving some weight on the corners. Contact some of the sponsors on our site for a price quote. I know DRU at Street Image is selling the StopTechs right now.

Thanks for the link

For Front/Rear slotted/drilled and Hawk HPS pads he quoted me $516 + shipping.

Can I get a better price?

On the link you provided the rotors listed for 05-07 G's are "non-sport" what does that mean? I have a 2005 M6 Sedan. will those rotors work?

They tend not to last longer. The drilled rotors have a tendency to crack at where the holes are, especially if you use them for track where they go through rapid heat and cool cycles. Engineered properly they should last about the same as none-drilled rotors.

Rotor life actually depend more on the metalurgy and if the rotor has been heat treated, as well as the internal cooling vane design. The better the cooling the longer the life. And no, drilled rotors do not actually aide cooling, the drilling process actually decrease the overall cooling surface and shorten the overall life of vented rotors. In the OLD days before vented rotors are common, drilling does help evacuate heat and prevent old race-pads from out-gassing.

On vented rotors, drilled and/or slotted doesn't extend rotor life. However, they are not without performance benefits. The slots actually help prevent the pad and rotor from "glazing," when the rotor or pad surface become mirror smooth thus preventing them from gripping effectively. Drilled holes help evacuate water from the rotor surface and also prevents glazing.

I am very happy with the PowerSlots I got from the TireRack. They perform very well and are quiet. The more aggressively dimpled and slotted designs are very noisy (too much air passing through the deep slotted surface). OK for track use only IMO.
