I have to replace my rotors and pads for my brakes. I have compiled a list and pricing of this maintenance. I don’t care that the total is +$2,400. I just want to know if it is the right path to go. Here is what I have planned.

$178 -Hawk HPS (F&R)
$1520 - StopTech AeroRotors (F&R)
$173 – StopTech SS Brake Lines
$ 45 – Dot3 Brake Fluid
$500- labor

$2416 – Total

Do I need to do the rotors in the back? The back rotors are $836.

Should I just get a BBK? What should I do with the back brakes if I do?

That quote was not from the dealership. I am sure they want more.

 

It should take any good shop only about 2-3 hours tops to replace pads, rotors, lines, and bleed. 500 is outrageous. Let me ask you why you need the Stoptech 2-piece aerorotors. Are you getting them for the look? Weight savings? Plan on doing track events?

RacingBrake rotors are more affordable. For $2,500 you're paying enough to buy a big brake kit with fixed calieprs.

Significantly cheaper than Stoptechs Aerorotors, about $500 less. If money is no object then I'd stick with the Stoptechs since they're proven.

I know you can inquire about having RB making 3pc rotors that uses a composite hat. I read on the corvette forums that they weigh in at 17.5lbs for the Corvettes.

The oem rear brakes are good for most track use if you get a good 330mm 4 or 6 pot BBK and good pads.

 

I wish I was in Cali. This forum makes me want to move there. I am located in PA.
