My ride quality feels like it sucks compared to the way it used to feel, and it seems bouncier than it used to be. I'm at 55k... what do you guys think the likelihood is that it's time for new shocks? How long should one be able to last on OEM suspension? Thanks!

 

Depends on the roads, passenger weight, temperature, tires and wheels.

I have never heard a client complain after getting new oem shocks, they always notice the difference.

 

Well, I have 93,000 miles on my sport tuned suspension and it still feels OK...

 

I am at 59K and just changed out to a 350z setup last night, and I must say the ride feels alot better. Around 55k the suspension I had started to be a little more bouncy, and started making alot of rattles as you drive.

 

do you recommend the 350z setup? is it stiffer and better handling? if yes, thats great--but i also want to keep a comfortable ride (if i didnt, i wouldve gotten springs a long time ago haha)

 

i just got my sport OEM suspension with 80k miles on it changed over to Tokico D-Spec & Eibach Pro Kit springs setup. very happy with the results. DEFINITELY worth it. It depends on how sensitive you are to what the car is doing. Usually anything over 20,000 you can start to see some change. Do they really need changing probably not, but you are the only one that can determine that, unless they are just flat wore out, or damaged, leaking etc.

 

if i take the car to a mechanic (or ****, one of you guys..), will they be able to drive it and tell me if the shocks are worn or not? is there any way to check to see, without just the subjective 'they feel bouncier' type of feeling?

 

I am on 60K on my 04 coupe and the shocks are just fine. I guess mostly I just drive it by myself, no extra passengers!!! What is the standard mileage before changing these socks or it should base on feeling boucing or visual inspect???

300ZXTT started feeling like my wife's old Monte Carlo it's was time to get new dampers. Nothing worse than bouncing down the road when you realize
you tight ride is gone!
