Sway bar question.

We lifted the car to install new tires and found out that my rear sway bar is broken. I really don't want to spend money on getting some after-market sways ecause I recently became unemployed.so I was wondering if the coupe and sedan sways are interchangable as I have seen some listed in the market place but they have been for the coupe and I have an 04 sedan.

Yes, IIRC all stock rear sway bars are the same on all model year 350Zs and all G35s except for the new 07 sedan.

Btw how is your sway bar broken? Is it split in half or something like that? That'd be pretty crazy.

It's broken at the end where it connects to the hanger(or what ever it is) we tried welding it but weld did not hold. I wanted to at least have a temporary fix.this must of happened when I tore off my exhaust on a hi bump at the car wash due to my car being so low, it got stuck and the WHOLE exhaust dropped on the ground.just never noticed the sway bar until the tire change.

SuperSlick: IIRC means "if I recall correctly"

Thanks for the heads up. I just don't have the tools for non-local sales..no pay-pal or anything like that. someone else posted up a set for less.

you prolly broke an endlink or a bracket broke/came loose. it would take a lot to break the actually end of the bar off.

He's talking about the sway-bar linkage...It shouldn't cost that much to replace. You can probably do it yourself...Just go buy the item at the dealership and you can replace it yourself...Take pictures to confirm but I think I know what you are talking about. There's no way a sway bar can be broken useless you get into an accident. I've seen those swaybar linkage break all the time...

The actual break is 1 inch away from the bolt that holds the sway bar but on the bar itself. not the linkage.

I will get a pic today so you guys can see.

sometime ago I got caught up on the bump I mentioned and the car literally got lodged and caused the WHOLE exhaust to fall and I think this is when the sway bar may of broken.

I don't think he wants to replace the whole bar...He's unemployed right now so money is tight...The end link is not that much compared to the sway bar...
