well if you have suspension mods it will not be coverd under warranty and if you have larger wheels they have to prove its the wheels

Modifications vs Warranty

A lot depends on the dealership/service manager. If they can prove the mod
you made caused the problem you won't be covered.....bottom line! I wouldn't be too concerned about wheels as long as they are the same height
as OEM. Plus I've seen 20's on cars in the showroom.....NBFD!

Really really wouldn't worry about that-

I had

CAI, Ztube, Plenum, Headers, Catback, lightened pullies, fuel management...

And I still got a new tranny cuz i owned my last one

Really wouldn't worry about it.

none of those has anything to do with the trans issues...his coilovers can have an affect on the tsb on the clicking compression rods...

It just basically comes down to 2 things 1) your service writer and 2) your service manager. There are ways around everything and there are ways to screw the customer over. If you are cool with them, it always seems to go smooth. If you are not cool with them even the smallest issue becomes a problem.

Magnuson-Moss Act. Just remember those 3 words. Unless the dealer can prove that your mods caused the problem they CAN NOT deny warranty work. The burden of proof is on them. Also, make sure they replace the axle, not just "fix" it. Ask them for a new one. Many people have had it "fixed" and the tick eventually came back.

Dealers are independent businesses and can refuse any work or customer, telling them to go away and to find somewhere else to bring their car.
They don't have to proven anything.

The dealer has nothing to do with your warranty which is between Nissan and you.

The dealer knows which things Nissan will pay for/reimburse easily. The dealer wants to sell services to Nissan and you. If dealer refuses up to you to deal with Nissan to get authority for dealer to make repairs on their nickel. Otherwise you pay.

Read your warranty booklet and note the next step is arbitration after Nissan refuses.

They do have a responsibility to inform Nissan if they see things which need to be reported.
