Brake Help!!!

Hey guys I really need your help here. I think I need to get some new brakes but I have a couple questions first. Please share all your knowledge, I would appreciate it!!!

1) Do aftermarket brakes such as Brembo, etc. last longer between replacements than stock brakes?

2) Would Brembos fit on my car? 2003 G35 Coupe with 19X8.5 in the front and 19X10 in the rear?

3) How much does it cost to replace the pads?

4) Can you put Brembo calipers on your existing rotors?

The '03 stock pads wore very quickly. There are dozens of different aftermarket pads and rotors, some wear more quickly than others.

Did your Coupe come with Brembos to begin with? Unless you are going to upgrade to a BBK or something like that, you want to get the parts that match your current OEM setup. Brembo probably has replacement rotors that fit your Coupe.

3) How much does it cost to replace the pads?
Anywhere from $50 to $150 for front and rear pads plus labor.

4) Can you put Brembo calipers on your existing rotors?
You would not replace the calipers unless you are upgrading to a BBK.

Depending on how they're built and who built them. There are crappy aftermarket suppliers and there are good, name-brand aftermarket suppliers that built better rotors with better cooling design or cryo-treated/heat treated materials for longer life. But you pay more for that. Obviously, good stuff does not come cheap. Brembo, Powerdisc/ATE, StopTECH, and RacingBrake all make excellent replacement rotors. Hawk, Axxis, and Cobalt Friction all make good pads.

2) Would Brembos fit on my car? 2003 G35 Coupe with 19X8.5 in the front and 19X10 in the rear?
If you're asking about replacement rotors, Brembo replacement rotors for NONE BREMBO brakes exist and they'll fit. If you're asking about used Brembo kits from say, a 350Z, yes they'll most likely fit. If you're asking about Brembo's aftermarket 4 and 6 piston kits (or 8), like their 332 or 355mm rotor Grand Tourismo kits, then it depends heavily on your wheel spoke design AND offset.

3) How much does it cost to replace the pads?
Cost of the pad. Ranges anywhere from $65/axle to $200/axle depending on what kind of pad you're using.

4) Can you put Brembo calipers on your existing rotors?
No. You'll need the right sized rotors in addition to the Brembo calipers and caliper carriers. Basically you'll need the entire brake system from a donor car.
