Can I hold Discount Tire responsible?

I recently had Discount Tire mount my new RPM R-505 wheels (Black with Chrome lip). While they were mounting, the scratched and ****ed up nearly all the lug nut holes.

Are the liable for not being careful when mounting them. I mean, I know they are lugnut holes and no one is perfect...but when you knick off a ****load of paint of BLACK wheels...it is noticeable.

BTW, anyone with black wheels, do yall use touch up paint to touch up your wheels? I have heard of ppl using nail polish to cover up blemishes?

LMK!

I'd go back in there and talk to the manager. Discount Tire is usually pretty good about their service, at least the ones I have been to.

when i went to firestone, we did a walk-around before they touched the car.
in your case it's harder to prove that they messed them up, but they should take care of you most of the time.

I would say so. You have a case because the wheels are new and who else would be messing around the lug nut holes.

i always tell the people to use a torque wrench with the lug nuts and not air tools

but you should go and talk to the manager to see what he can do for you

+1 on the torque wrench. When I got my car back from the body shop, I had to use my lug wrench with my floor jack handle to break the damn lugs loose! Two of the studs became cross-threaded because of how tight they put them on. I told the owner about it today, and he said he would make sure to tell his guys not to put them on so tight.

Keep a set of these in the car, have the shop use 'em.
