Replacing wheel bolts/studs (350 z tutorial?)

Found this http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Wheel_Stud_Replacement

Can I use that this weekend to replace the oem studs with longer studs? I have to use the longer studs/bolts for the 5mm HR spacer for my new wheels.

Cheers,
Clint

Hey Clint ... it's Clint here too!

The "hammering" of the studs out will do, but it is not the friendliest to your hub bearings (the immense shocks). The hub removal and press method is definitely preferred.

You will also find the extended length studs extremely tricky to slip back in w.o. disassembling the hub. There is very little clearance behind it. Fortunately I have managed in the past to snake the same H&R 5mm extended studs in w.o. removing the front hubs. You'll have to get it just right. The rears I cannot vouch for.

Good Luck!

Well I did it. Its was very easy also. NO disassembly of the hub required - even for the rears.

Just remember to use a rubber mallet and turn the front wheels all the way left.

The rears according to the tech were easier. And they everything according to the linked Z tutorial - and this was even without showing the tutorial to them

Good to hear of the success w. the rear too.
I've only had to replace my fronts in the past.
