i did mine myself on my R32 skyline (i'm in australia) and it has lasted 3 years now and counting..

i used "VHT brake caliper paint" but many others here have just used normal $2 can of paint. the calipers don't heat up very much, its jsut the pads and rotors

procedure:
- remove wheel
- using "brake cleaner" spray the caliper and give it a good clean. scrub with a toothbrush or with a rag to get it clean
- get a wire brush and give the caliper a good scrub to create a surface for the paint to bond to
- again, clean the caliper with brake cleaner to et rid of the flakes of metal
- now its time to tape up surrounding areas - use newspaper to tape everything except the caliper. don't worry if you go onto the face of the rotor as paint will never stick to the rotor as when you drive it will just heat up and burn off in a matter of seconds..
- now its time to paint. i did mine over many hours - give it a very light coat of paint and let it dry. repeat unitl you have at least 3-4 coats of paint
- let it dry
- put wheel back on
- go for a brief drive - this will remove any paint from the rotor

its very easy, just time consuming having to wait for paint to dry. i have done this ages ago on my car and more recently on my brothers car. a mate of mine also did it this way on his car and it came out great.

hope this helps someone!

cheers,
Warren

That does look good. Always wondered what gold would look like. I may have to do this, especially on the dual piston calipers up front. Where did you get the paint from? Is it a specific color?

Me and my friend did the same to his g20. I suggest you guys use DupliColor caliper paint (available at AutoZone, PepBoys, etc). Apply it with a brush, no messy spray painting!

Here is the thread:
