S-techs and sport shocks

Hey,

On my 05 sedan, i have unrevized z springs w/ sport suspension shocks and its no problem, but i want to go lower.

My question is.... would my sports suspension/shocks survive if i put in tein s-techs? or would they blow out or bottom out...

they will go out eventually. The cheapest way is to get used z-shocks. I have been running on s-techs and Z-shocks for over 2 years and havent experienced any type of bounciness or floating.

i thought the sports suspension was pretty much the same as the z shocks?

or at least, you could youse the sports suspension with z springs, so i am assuming that the sport shocks would be the same as the z shocks?

U could be right. My analogies about using z-springs with stock shocks are that there is only 0.5-1.0 height difference between the coupe and Z-shocks. That is why it is pretty much safe to use the stock G shocks with z-springs. But when u put the s-techs on the difference becomes 1.3-1.9 inches. I think using z-shocks are safer because they should be shorter than z-shocks, which would correspond better with s-techs.

Anyone with more knowledge chime in.

No, they are definately not the same. Beside benefiting your with 3/4" shorter case lengths and piston rod lengths, they have stiffer valving vs your oem sedan sport suspenision shocks. Just to say it, avoid 03/04 oem Z shocks at ALL costs, only use 05-07.

hey thanks for the info, if i do decide to use z shocks i will be sure to get 05-07. but anyway, would i be able to use s-techs with my sport suspension shocks without the shocks bottoming out or basically "dying"?

Spring rates aren't high enough to be a issue. Removing 2" of front shock piston stroke is however. IMO, give yourself back 3/4" of piston stroke with the 05/07 Z shocks or upgrade to D-specs.

i honestly dont know what that means... r u saying i CAN use the sport shocks but the z shocks are a better option? i dont want to get d-specs, if i cant use my sport shocks or z shocks, i think i may just get tein basics.

To explain, you asked a two part question.

"Would i be able to use s-techs with my sport suspension shocks without the shocks bottoming out or basically "dying"?

Spring rates aren't high enough to effect the shocks so they won't be dying, not enough stiffness to cause that. On the bottoming out question, your wanting springs that remove 2" of front shock piston stroke, installing the Z shocks would not only give you back 3/4" of that lost stroke. Also forgot to mention that the Z shocks are firmer, that will also help keep you off the bumpstops.
