Brake Pads
Brake Pads
I go to the infinity dealer and he told me that the front and rear brakes need to be replaced. The same day the Nissan dealer told me that the front rakes are ok and the rear pads need to be replaced and the rotors resurfaced. I then go to a national chain and they tell me the same as the Nissan dealer and charging about $100 less. So I decide to use the national chain. They could not find Nissan pads and installed Quiet Stop - Raybesto pads. These are ceramic pads.
Has anyone used this pads before on the G. My first impression was not as good as the OEM pads, however it might be because the brakes are new. Do pads like these require "brake in".
Regards,

Comes to a stop in the as designed and published distance is usually the best idea.
Unfortunately non oem pads usually LENGTHEN the 60 or 80 to Zero distances especially in full panic applications especially those that purport to last longer or dust less.
The Nissan Brake Assist System depends on oem soft pads!

That's what i think to. The car does come to a stop but it takes longer and now there is a lot more dust on the front brakes. I guess this is because the fronts are doing a lot more work. I will watch a bit longer and might take it to the dealer if i dont like it. I can really tell the difference in braking and in the G you dont realize the speed that much.
That's what i get for experimenting.
For 50 years engineers and chemists have know the parameters of the 130 or so most common materials used in various brake pad cake mixes.
From floor seeping metal scraps, dirt, to cashew shells and rancid oils.
Unfortunately copper fillings have been dropped because of cost and water pollution.

Soft fast wearing pads coupled with soft rotor materials help reduce noise significantly.
