05 pads and rotors?

My 05 6mt sport is at around the 28k mile mark and at the dealer today they said my rear pads had 3mm left so basically those need to be replaced pretty soon and they also said my front rotor was warped. What should be my plan of attack? I havent seen much talk about 05 replacements in particular in the search so i was wondering what most people do?

there are lots of pads out there. I would stick with the stockers. I changed mine for Project Mu B-force pads, and I think the stockers are better and have less dust, too.

+1

My front rotors were warped and my rear pads were gone, i turned the front rotors and put Project Mu B-Forces on the front and turned the rear rotors with new oem pads. The Mu's have a little more bite, but alot more dust.

I'd have the rotors turned and put new oem pads on.

For $650 i bought 4 rotora slotted rotors, hawk hps pads, and stoptech SS lines with motul brake fluid. Works perfect for me

They shave down mm's of the rotor. Leaving you with a smooth surface for better braking. Only if there is enough rotor left to shave.

It's cheaper than buying new rotors. So you will save money.

If the shop recommended resurfacing, it's likely because the rotors are scored up/marked up from your old pads. Resurfacing will provide for better braking perfomance from your new pads. You want the new brake pads to have a smooth, flat surface to "bed" to for proper braking. Don't skimp on brakes.

Rotors and brake pads work in conjunction with one another so you need a clean, flat surface on both in order to have optimal breaking.

The rotor is what the brake pads "squeeze."

drop me a PM I can help you out with some pads and rotors...

usually the 05 rotors will last you through two sets of pads... Its not too uncommon for a place to try and sell you more than you need... even if its a dealer... :-/

The stop tech rotors are top quality and best bang for your buck...
