Brakes Question!

If I get new rotors and pads do i need to upgrade to steel braided lines? I'm planning on purchasing non brembo stoptech slotted rotors and hawk hps pads. I have a 5at slightly modded and i don't track the car. Is braided steel lines super necessary? Thanks

Tito

u dont have to change them but u should. oem lines suck! you can find a set of agency power braided lines in ebay for a decent price. i even got rid of my oem clutch line and relpaced it with a braided one since they tend to stretch/flex..

You don't need too. The Oem would work. You can get the SS brake line if you want better peformace out of the brake's. Also if you do get them. Flush your system first before installing them.

check your rotor thickness with a micrometer. there are spec thickness that the rotor should stay between.

30mm is standard and you can run them around 28mm

the measurements should also be within 0.015 mm of one another across 5-10 positions.

My guess is that your rotors are just fine. How many times have you had them resurfaced?

I don't think you should bother with ss lines, since you have non-brembos and drive like a pussy.
