How long OEM shock will last?

Just a quick question, how long would oem shock with z h-tech will last? I have 45k miles on the car right now, so i guess my shock is quite old.
I'm thinking of getting z h-techs [or g s-tech] but i don't know how long oem shock will last with this spring. If my oem shock could only last for a couple month, then i should get tein basic instead of z h-tech. I just don't want to blow my old shock and paid another shock installation labor again.

Shocks decline from the first undulation cycle, usually [depending on road] the are acceptable until 60k or 4 years. They are not as rebound stiff as new just that owner gets use to slow decline. Obviously stiffer more energetic springs will wear any shock faster.

Springs & Shocks.........

You're probably correct, with 45K miles on the OEM shocks and installing the
350Z H Tecks now would be the time to install the complete package. Last
time I looked www.everythingg35 was offering the package you're looking for
at a discount price.......check their site!

Stiffer springs should impose less wear and tear on a shock should they not? Less travel for the shock to absorb. Just thinking intuitively here - not really certain. Hmmm....

In my experience, it's the opposite - while lowering springs have less travel, they're also signficantly stiffer so the shock has to exert more force on the springs.

Correct. Just as Q45tech also said. There is a lot more force the shock has to work with.

now, i'm thinking to put s-tech + coupe/Z oem shocks [with low miles] to replace my current shocks. I'm wondering if Z n g coupe have the same shocks? I guess z-shocks will last longer as it's shorter than g's shock, isn't it?

I have been running G s-tehcs with z-shocks for over 2 years and have not had any problems. The shocks are as good as i first got them.

Mileage is more important than time.

Is it unrevised or revised z-shocks?

About 20,000 miles

I am running H-Techs (w/ the rear spring mount cut 1/2 inch) with stock shocks.

It has been a little more than 20,000 miles and they are about done. Trust me, you will know when they need to be replaced. My G is not fun to drive anymore, very unsettled, and bounces like a pogo stick.

I'll be installing some D-Specs later this month. Although, everyone I ask suggests Koni or Bilstein.

BTW the stockers are made by Tokico.
