Brakes Brake pads and rotors.

Hi, new here.

I went to do an oil change and was told that I need to replace my brake pads and rotors. The dealer wants to charge about $600 to do so which I find absurd.

I might as well get better brakes and rotors. Can someone suggest a less dusty, less noisy, and less pricey solution for my '03 G35 Sedan?

Also, can I just take this to any shop to install if I buy them from a reputable place online? The dealers are such ripoffs.

This isn't for racing or anything special, just regular fast driving.

$600 for pads and rotors front and back? That is a pretty decent price from a dealership...depending what parts they are using. Meineke was going to charge me $750 so I decided to find the parts myself online. This is what I plan on doing:

~$130 Hawk Ceramic pads
~$340 Stoptech slotted rotors
~$175 Install (still looking for a lower price here)

=$645

Actually, that was their price JUST FOR FRONT! Isn't that crazy?

Should I change all at once since I want to switch to better brakes and rotors?

Are your prices listed that you've found for all 4 or each?

That's for all four. You only need to switch the fronts if that's all they told you you needed...I think. I'm definitely no car expert...just know what I've been told from getting work done on my cars and doing a little research.

The only thing is if you get slotted or drilled rotors on just the front, they won't look the same as the back.

This site has the plain rotors if you'd want everything to match...a lot cheaper than the slotted, too.
