Unrevised Z shocks VS 04 Gcoupe shocks
i have a quick question. Does the unrevised Z shocks has the same rate as 04 coupe shocks? i read on gsedan's sticky but it's all talking about the spring rate. how about the shocks? I found out that unrevised Z shocks + stiffer spring will make a bounchy ride, isn't it? So i think 04 coupe shocks + stiffer spring will have a bounchy ride as well?
The unrevised '03 and early '04 Z shocks are valved stiffer than any of the G coupe shocks which caused complaints of bounciness. The 04 coupe shocks should be just fine.
I don't think 03-04 z shocks should be used in any situation unless you have to use them, the super stiff valving when used in conjunction with an even stiffer spring will result in a very poor performing suspension. What springs are you planning on pairing with the shocks that are so stiff?

i'm going to get either coupe S-tech or Z s-tech. What shocks would you recommend? i'm prefer going with some oem suspension as it has decent price and i'm using my car just for daily driver not for track or something. I think i have 4 choice by now
1. 03-04 g shocks
2. 05-06 sport shocks
3. Z unrevised
4. Z revised
may be tokico dspec if no other choice.

With coupe s-techs, stick with your stock shocks, they have very soft springrates whic should work fine with your oem shocks. For the Z stechs, ideally I would go with a revised Z setup, but a 05-06 coupe sport tuned setup would work in a pinch. Obviously the d-specs would be the best choice

well, i have about 45k miles on my suspension, do you think my shock still can handle it? i think the shocks will wear much faster after i put on the s-tech.

Not too many people know about these but Tokico does make OEM like replacement shocks that are not adjustable but still perform better than OEM shocks. They are the HP Blue series and are priced very reasonably at $259 for a set of 4.
