Vibration On Road....HELP!!!
#17
Interesting thread ... I was going to start a new one but lemme add to this...
I recently got 4 brand new tires Yokohama YK520 (rating 520AA) and got it installed, balanced and all. Instead of the OEM size 215/55R17, I got the 225/55R17s. Then when I started driving, I could feel the vibration at high speed 75+ mph on the highway. Never used to feel this in my old ones. Now these tires are just a week old (may be 150 miles) and brand new and balanced. The guy who installed it told me that he put 32 psi all around. I usually drive with 30 psi all around.
What can this be due to?
And as the thread suggested above, I will go home and check the pressure on all the tires again.
My last question is, when you have brand new tires, does it take some time for the tires to get adjusted to the highways meaning the surface of the road ? sounds like a stupid question, but am curious.
Thanks in advance for any help.
UPDATE Mon 02/25/2008
I checked my tire pressure over the weekend and guess what ... the pressure was around 26/27 all around. The guy who installed said he put 32 all around. Filled it up to 30 all around ... rides really smooth now. The vibration has decreased to a very very minimum ... nearly unnoticeable. I was wondering if I should take it up to 32 all around.
What is the recommended for 03 Sedan any way? I need to check the manual.
