Help me get lower!!!

I have a 2006 sedan with 20" mrr gt-1 with 285/30/20 on the rear and I want to lower it badly but the wheels this shop sold me have an offset more suited for the coup ...seeing that I bought them a year and a half ago there not going to help me. Does anyone know if I can get away with lovering it 0.4 or 0.6 " without rub? would it help to change to 275/30/20 ? Thanks for any thoughts on the situation.

What's the offset they gave you?

I think the best way is to either go with adjustable coilovers or revised 350Z springs.

No that doesntsound right at all. If they are more a coupe offset they would be more like a 20-35 offset. Sedan is more of a 38-45 offset.

A +45 with a 285 is going to be very close to rubbing, even with rolled fenders. It will depend on how much negative camber you have. You can try 350Z springs or basic lowering springs then switch to a 275/30 if they still rub.

If you are looking for a half inch drop, try the coupe springs. The Z springs will be closer to a one inch drop.

I need a new tire in the rear because of a nail through the side wall so It would probably make more since to order 2- 275/30's instead of getting another 280 and having it rub when I drop it ...or is the general Idea that I should just get a better suited set of wheels instead of dealing with the chance of having an issue?
