Hawk HPS pads question???

I ordered these pads along with ocautobody.com rotors. This is my third time doing brakes and last time i threw away the oem shims... I've heard that you don't need them and i've also heard that the hawk pads come with shims included... does anybody know if hawk pads have them or if not where can i purchase oem shims online... besides dealer... thanks

when i did my brakes, i bought the Hawk HPS also and i threw the shims out... but now the brakes dont brake as smooth and it has a creaking sound to it. i also have Rotora slotted rotors so i dont know if that plays a part... but i wish i had put the shims with the pads... on my next brake job... i might go with the green stuff, project mu

A member I know with project mu pads and rotors has HORRIBLE squealing problems. It seriously made my ears bleed. It's probably more the rotors than the pads, but either way, I'd personally stay away from project mu.

My old HPS pads never made any noise until they got nice and warm, then they were a little noisy at very low speeds right before you stop.

For the custom tuned antivibration noise reduction shims and insulators the factory often pays more than for the brake pads.
