Finding a clear answer on this topic is impossible. Too many opinons and personal tastes.

My question, and i will post it here rather than start yet another thread is this:

06 6mt coupe, 19"s

I want a more aggresive drop than h-teck so s-tech it is. I also think g35 suspension is a little too soft so i am leaning towards 350z stech.

My concern is when I look at the spring rate difference between g35 stech and 350z stech the difference is huge, not so much on the front but the rears. G35 is somewhere around 350 front 275 rear and 350z you are at around 385 front, not a huge increase but what 402 rears? That is a huge jump from 275 and makes the rear stiffer than the front when it is opposite on the g springs.

I consider my car a performance coupe rather than a luxury coupe and i am ok with a stiffer ride but for those who have done this how extreme difference in ride is it? I don't mind stiff but I don't want a rattle box either, and do the handling charecteristics change going from softer back stiffer front to the opposite?

^yo I'm going to get my 350z s-techs installed today. I'll let you know how it is. BTW, the rears on the s-tech are softer than the stock sport

suspension on the coupe. Only the fronts are stiffer than stock.

I'm finding that the 350z h tech convertible springs have a lower drop than the non. I searched this site for info regarding convertible teins, but found nothing.

Front Rear

kgf/mm lbs/in kgf/mm lbs/in mm in mm in

convertible
6.4 358 6.7 375 13 0.5 7 0.3
vs
non
6.4 358 6.7 375 7 0.3 4 0.2

Thanks,

~Dv8

Installed my Tein ZH techs Monday. Took me about 3 hours. Height is prfect for everyday driving. Lowered the front about 3/4 inch. If I went with the S techs I would be rubbing up front with my 20's on 245/35 toyos. Rear was cake. It took me longer to jack up the car and take off the wheels then replcing the springs.

guys, are you using aftermarket struts with your lowering springs, particularly with the tien s-techs? i know when i owned a maxima, it was basically necessary to get aftermarket struts with lowering springs to ensure a quality/safe ride. how do the stock struts hold up with s-techs?

thanks

I know exactly what you're saying about lowering a Max. Had to go KYB AGXs when I dropped on maxspeeds.

I'm interested in the same question. Really like the Z H-Tech solution + SPC rear camber kit. Already have the lifetime alignment so we're talking $300 for a nice look. Not sure what the effective drop is F/R with and w/out the springmount mod. Can you just go online and order 350Z H-Tech springs off any site and get the right part?

350z s-techs and the spc rear camber kit worked out perfect for me. Sweet drop and all in spec after dealer alingment.

got mine here:

check with other springs. the teins ride great, but the drop sucks. made the mistake of being safe & going with g35 h-techs. got a 3 finger gap in the rear. either go eibach pro-kit or maybe try s-techs & just bite the bullit on the camber kit. you will be much happier in the end. wish i would have caught this thread before....

is there anything available to adjust camber in the front? i know the stock a-arms from factory aren't camber adjustable, but can that be replaced with adjustable arms that have camber adjustments?

The front camber kit from SPC is quite a bit more than the rear, gives you a lot of control, but it's $400.

I'm -1.6 left and -1.9 right in the front dropped on 350z s-techs with stock a-arms no adjustment. Not exactly in spec but not way out there where I am going to be burning tires either.

I can live with that and the camber arms in the rear got me dead on -1.5 both sides.

G35 H-techs would be a waste of money if you are looking for a drop

Sorry to revive an old thread but...
The general recommendation for 350z H-Tech springs appears to be a rear camber kit. Do you also need additional toe adjustment or is the stock adjustment good enough.

rear camber kits usually come with toe bolts that give you more (enough) adjustment
