S-Tech or H-Tech?
S-Tech or H-Tech?

I am in the market for H-Tech or S-tech springs for my 07 Coupe.
I am confused to which one would be best for my car.
I heard that the S-Tech had a better "noticeable" drop than the H-Tech.
Therefore, I was leaning toward S-Tech.
BUT...
I heard that the camber adjustment was required for S-Tech and not for H-Tech. Is this true???
Someone told me that BOTH springs need camber adjustments.
I really dont want to get messy with the whole camber...
your opinion on this will be greatly appreciated!!! thanks~!!!

The shop that i got my S techs from told me i dont need a camber kit, camber can be adjusted by a shop with a wheel alignment. They said camber kit would only be needed if i modified the spring by cutting it. But who knows, they could be wrong..

H-tech ($160)- Find uneven drop- springmount mod- Find you need rear camber kit ($170)- Alignment ($70). = $400
S-tech ($160)- Find you need rear camber kit and most likely front camber kit ($500)- Alignment ($70). = $730
SO it comes down to whether a lower drop is worth ~$330 to you.
I went with the 350z H-techs, and I'm satisfied, but I could always use a more aggressive drop.
By the way the $500 for the front and rear camber kit is a bundled price (separate would be $545. Theres a couple vendors in the marketplace selling them now

Yea. If youre planning on doing a good amount of mods (more than $5k) then do it "right" the first time and get the S-techs, or even coilovers, and invest in the front/rear camber kits. $500 for both is a small portion of your $5k of mods.
As for me, I'm just doing some basic mods, so I decided to save the money(from the front camber kit) for some other light mods

you might wanna look into other springs with a more even drop..
my rears were sitting 3/4" higher than the fronts..and I personally didnt want to cut that much on the springmounts..so I cut 1/2". Plus you wont have to go through the hassle

Yea i was told by some people on here *some pretty knowledgeable members too*, that Camber isn't a must for S-techs. I ordered S techs should be getting here Tuesday. and well i been looking into doing it myself or getting a friend to help me out.. just need to find a way to get a spring compressor. I'm being quoted 300+ & tax for install then 70 for alignment.. That just doesn't sit right for me.. since i have to yet to pay for labor.. but this is the first "semi-major" mod I'm doing after intake which was kinda common sense.
I bought S techs and the rear camber kit. I had the springmount mod done as well and Im very happy with the outcome, it gave me a noticeable drop and the ride is great! As far as from what I have read here in the forum everyone recommends getting a rear camber kit and eventually it will pay for itself in the long run. Imo if you want to lower your car buy the S techs, rear camber kit and springmount mod.
I'm getting mixed advice also. A shop told me that H-techs dont need a camber but S-Techs do because they have more of a drop. like Htech is around a half an inch where stech is around an inch. Someone please clarify this once and for all!
Okay so i went to the Tein website and found out some info.
These are Coupe numbers
S-Tech - 1.2 front
0.9 rear
H-Tech - 0.6 front
0.3 rear

No drop "requires" camber kits, its your choice if you want them or not. To sum things up, the front camber is not adjustable on our cars, coupe s-techs, 350z h-techs, and 350z s-techs will put the front camber out of OEM spec for camber. This may or may not lead to excess camber wear depending on your driving etc. G35 h-techs may not put you out of spec in the front, but don't expect much of a drop if at all, the springrates also suck. For the rear alignment, 350z h-techs without a springmount mod will usually be back in specs with an alignment, for coupe or 350z s-techs, most people cannot get the rear back into spec. Once again, this can lead to camber wear for some people. My advice? Purchase the rear eibach(SPC) camber kit no matter what springs you install. The kit is relatively cheap compared to tires($150), and will pay for itself much sooner than the front camber kits which are $300+.
