stillen front strut issue

got my stillen front strut bar today and tried to install it and it WILL NOT clear my Injen CAI. Anyone else installed this strut bar and had issues?

Waiting to hear back from Stillen on a solution, possibly getting shorter vibration mounts for the CAI might be a solution.

it's been a while since i've seen an injen cai, but isn't this one?

or is that an entirely different cai? LOL

in any case, stillen was stupid when they designed this strut bar.

looks like an AEM. But I REALLY would have thought they all had the same "footprint" so to speak.

From Stillen's site:

Designed as simple bolt-on for most applications, however some will require some modification of the vehicle.

Other sites have said:

- STB Will Not Clear Stock Intake Tube
- STB Will Clear Z-Tube (or other aftermarket intakes)
- STB Will Clear 5/16" Plenum Spacers
- STB Will NOT Clear 1/2" Plenum Spacers
- Engine Cover Needs To Be Removed
How far off is the fitment?

Yea O RLY I knew all this before I bought it. Its just that the Injen CAI is sitting too high for the bar to clear. The strut bar mounts went on with little effort but when the bar was being mounted to the mounts it simply wont fit. aand attach to the passenger side strut mount.

I've been wanting to go back to stock intake system anyway with the z-tube of course and K+N filter, so I guess now's the time to do that.

Well, I replace the INJEN with the stock set up and z-tube. It clears the intake now but NOT the plenum still. Hmmm. Sucks. I even put a few washers under the mounts and it still rubbed the top of the plenum.

I don't see how?? I have the same setup as you (pic above), and I have space. This might be a dumb question, but you do have the bar set to as high as it can go?? If you do, that I'll say your 2 mounts are bad, or it's a 2006 and above thing (not likely).

Yeah, weird huh? Yes the bar was mounted to the top, as high as it could be, of course, but fair question.

I think it could be due to the Hondata gasket i have installed. Its thicker than the aramid gasket from motordyne.

I'm gonna be replacing that gasket next weekend.
