Hey Guys...

I'm pretty new to the site and I've been doing a little research about suspensions. I'm sort of confused on what to do. You guys have any ideas?

Situation:

I have 19" MRR GT1 (standard) with 245/35/19 Falken 452's. I have a 3 finger gap in the back and a 4 finger gap up front. I want to lower the car but I don't want to dig into my tires or start cambering all over the place. I've seen people use either Eibach Pro Kit or Tein H-Techs. The thing is I want no more than a 1" drop otherwise I think I'm asking for trouble. You guys have any ideas? I would greatly appreciate all of your help!!!

That was the next portion after this thread. I really do need help here. I don't want to rub...but I do want to lower it. What to do what to do?!?!?!!!!

 

If your wheels are the correct offset then you will have no rubbing issues

 

You want either the stock 350z springs (1 inch drop) or Tein 350z h-tech springs (1.2 front/1.1 rear drop).

 

well...I think I'm going to go w/ Tein H-techs. The front is noticably higher than the front and thats where I want to bring it down the most. Problem being, most springs are pretty close in consistency as far as the drop and that would be a problem in the back. Its either that or roll the fender.

Are camber kits needed anyways. I see so much conflicting advise on here my head is spinning?

 

Another question. Why do they put the 350z springs on sedans? Does that really work without tearing up your suspension?

 

They put them on sedans because is a cheaper alternative to aftermarket and you will most likely not need a camber kit to get alignment back in specs. The only issue you might have is if you put stock non sport spring on 350z spring or sport sedan springs on revised 350z springs. The shocks were not designed to handle the rebound rate of the springs and will blow out quick.

The front of the g's sit higher than the back so if you want an even drop... the back will always look lower than the front. If you want a even "naked eye" drop... go with z springs in the front (1" drop) and coupe springs the back (.75"). It will give it a nice even line and looks great. It's what most of us do for a cheaper mod and exactly what you are looking for

 

are you talking about new or used springs?

Does the ride quality suffer on that frakenstein setup compared to say prokit on all 4 corners?

 

they would be used springs most likely. I'm s ure maybe you can go to the dealer and get new ones, but people here use used ones usually.

The ride quality does not suffer because the spring rate on stock springs will be fine with the z/coupe springs. Prokit on all 4 will suffer from ride quality most likely because it is lower than the z/coupe spring setup. Don't hold me to this and someone can chime in and correct me. But from what I have read, thats what I was told. I plan on going with this set up (z/coupe) so I read up on it quite a bit

I just bought a set of coupe 19s and plan on running dunlop direzzas 225/35 front and 245/35 rears
