My suspension feels weird
My suspension feels weird
I don't know if it's me or it's my car but I don't trust my suspension.
Let me try to explain it to you guys the best I can.
Car dropped on 350Z H-Tech springs.
Installed properly and I rechecked all the nuts and bolts to make sure that nothing is loose.
Tires on the back (my main issue is with rear) 255/40/19. One of them is brand newish and other is kinda boldish (I had a flat and had to replace the tire)
Main part of my question will relate to local guys cuz it might be the road that's playing tricks with me and I want to hear a feed back from local guys that drive same roads if you guys experience same thing I do.
So here is what's up.
It feels that my car shifts on the roadway.
Every time I hit a little bump or small pot hole it feels like car jumps up and shifts
I had alignment done not so long ago and I don't think that it's the issue cuz there is no pull.
I don't know if it's in my head or if it's cuz of that one bold tire that has less traction then the other or what but it's weird.
Also it does not stay in straight line on the highway.
Not cuz of the pull but cuz of small bumps and pot holes.
when I hit a bump or some uneven spot on the road car shifts and jumps to diff directions. Nothing crazy but I constantly need to keep on correcting it.
I don't remember doing that on my stock suspension.
Also every time I jack the car up and remove the wheels after that car feels better on the road. Softer and more stable.
Once again it could all be in my head or it could be something.
What are the ways to test my suspension? Besides alignment.
Anything I can do to test it? I measured it and car sits even on all 4 sides (measured it from fender to the ground)
Car has 60k miles on it. Do you think it could be the shocks?
My tire wear is pretty even if comparing left side to right side (I'm not talking about camber) So there are no signs of bad shocks on one side. Could both of them be giving out and causing this?

it's pain in the a$$. it jumps back and forth all the time. Plus road is curved so it always trows me left (I drive left lane at all times)
What were your final alignment specs? If you are too low, your camber/toe might be causing it to jump. Or one of your shocks could be blown. At 60k, aftermarket springs usually exponentially speed up a stock shock's death. Unless these are at the oem spring rates. Or one of them could have bottomed out and blew

I thought our cars were heavy and pretty slick when it comes to wind resistance.
But it feels like a fvcking 18 wheeler.
Gets blow around like a mother fvcker.

Shocks look good.
I'm gonna try to schedule alignment check for tomorrow to see if it could be all messed up.

IMHO only. I think there's a diff in what the alignment shop can do and what is right. Unless you guys are all on camber correct stuff or you aren't lowered enough to need it.
Shocks can be worn out w/o leaking also.

i think wat you're describing is 'wandering.' the rear of the car shifts left/right especially when you hit a bump on one side of the car right?
the remedy is to get an alignment. your rear toes-out as you lower
the car. you need to get the toe-in corrected.
also, your suspension is under damped. when you get around to it,
you might want to invest in some TokicoD-specs. the less compression
movement you have, the less toe-out it will be as it compresses. pretty
simple concept, right?

Wouldn't that make car jump more and be more rough on the road?
How many miles did the shocks you sold me have? I'd sell them to Joker for pretty cheap as I got Konis from drivesolo
