If you have one of those cheap $20 bit sets you can get from Costco, Home Depot or something, there should be a bunch of cutting wheels in it that might be faster. The follow up with the grinding bits to smooth everything.

Well I got some new bits today (mine were old and junk) and tore right through that steel. It's very tough, just a fair warning to those that need to drill into it for some reason. Ground it down and polished it with some grinding tools and a dremel. The bolts seem to fit just right; I extended the hole down about 1cm. When I get my coilovers and other lowering goodies to install them, I'll see if the brace fits.
