Help With Coilover Decision

I looked at the sticky we have for all the coilovers but I have no idea what any of the stuff really means. I also read a bunch of coilover advice threads and etc, but most weren't looking for what I'm looking for. My budget is $2k absolute max, which needs to include camber kits and possible upgraded end-links.

What I want out of my setup:
- Aggressive drop, 2"+ on the back is required and the car has to be leveled
- Dampening adjustability is a must
- I want the car to really hug the road and turn corners like a go-kart
- Maintaining super soft ride isn't my goal, but I don't want to be breaking my backbone on a stiff-as-hell ride.

My current wheels and tires: +20 and +25, 20 x 8.5 and 20 x 9.5, 275 on back 245 up

So far I am liking:
Stance GR+ (Need max drop height info.)
Tein Super Drift (Great min. height, back spring rate seems a bit soft obviously)
JIC FLT-A1 (is this JIC FLT-FAS? Need max drop height info.)
JIC FLT-A2 (seems to be good by transferring stiffness to the rear while maintaining aggressive spring rates. Need max drop height info.)
HKS II (now Hipermax III? Need max drop height info.)
HKS Hipermax RS (Need max drop height info.)

Anyone able to share some experiences with these?

I am still unsure what spring rates to be looking for and how many stiffness settings I should look for. Also, when it is "fully height adjustable," how much is that? +/- 3"? I'm just mainly unsure of what the spring rates really mean in terms of what set up I should be looking for and how I should set up my car. I know what progressive versus linear springs mean, but I am not quite sure what it means for performance or how to set up the suspension when I get it for how I want it to behave. So if anyone can throw in some set-up advice along with their coilover pick/experiences, I would appreciate it.

I guess I should get the SPC camber kit? I got this off another thread:
spc/eibach rear
spl/350evo front

Are these camber kits still more or less the best or whatnot?

I'll probably pick up the PowerGrid end-links just to be safe. Anything else?

Off the spring/coilover sticky:

Stance coilovers (Monotube, true coilover in rear, 15 way adjustable dampning, full height adjustable
Spring rates 672/280
CAUTION: Really good owner review's exist and at $1150 shipped they are a excellent value, however run a search on my350Z for a post by Adam aka Z1auto concerning the product's ride and drive quality. But a number of owner's are experiencing issues with the lower shock mount bushing not being designed to carry the loads being asked of it since the oem setup was not designed to have the springs with the shocks. A new sperical bushing fix has been talked about, but hasn't been produced yet.

Sounds like I might be getting more of a headache than anything with these, however, I like the characteristics. Has there been a fix for this?

On their website I think they adressed that problem and put the rear spring in the oem location.

Anyone got experiences with the coilovers I've narrowed it down to? Or am I looking at the wrong kits for what I want? I know the OP is long, but hey at least I'm being detailed and not just saying "What's the best coiliover yo?! What should I get guys!? (too general)"

will go check it out. I kinda wanted to get the kit ASAP. My OEM top hat bolts snapped off when I was untightening them to remove my strut brace. Cheap steel.

You are referring to the GR+ setup, yes? Looks like that's the only one which notes an OEM type rear setup. I'm wondering what the pros and cons are of stiffer shock settings, monotube vs twin tube shocks, high spring rate springs vs low rates, and linear vs progressive springs on car handling and settings.

anyone know of a place to look up the max drop heights on the coils mentioned above? I can't seem to get them from any vendors.

Consider the Tanabe Sustec Pro 5s. I'm putting them on my car this weekend, I'll let you know what I think.

As for springs, basically, stiffer spring means better handling but worse ride quality. I think anything up to around 10k would still be comfortable on a G, and give you good handling.

whats the lowest height setting for those? seems like there are a lot of kits out there that only go down to less than 2" max. Will getting the 350z kits help with this considering the springs are supposedly half inch lower than g35 springs? or coilovers stay the same for both cars?

Ok... is this thread in the wrong section or people w/ coilovers just aren't reading this? Can anyone shed their experience with the ones I have narrowed it down to or anything I haven't looked at?

Have you tried looking @ BC Racing.
They offer stiffer spring rates than advertise if you wish.
Has all the options you looking.
Very easy to speak to if your looking for technical information.

Ah I read about them in the threads I've been digging for the past 2 days, but forgot to look them up, thanks for the tip!
