I hv a 03 coupe and has the OEM brake on it, but been thinking to get the aftermarket brake like the Brembo or Ap or JBT, but what happens if I only get the front but not the rear? will it lose the balance? or will anything thats bad for the car?

You will be fine but it kinda looks incomplete without doing the rear also.

depends on if the kit is properly sized for OEM bias like the stoptech kits. not sure if other kits are optimized in this way though

When I added the OEM G37 BBK in the front. I found the bias was way off and it def needed the rear to complete the process. I actually felt it was unsafe that is how much of a difference it made. I even commented on it when we drove to san Mateo and basically everyone agreed the bias was off.

If you slam on the brakes you will do a crazy endo and the back of the car could flip over the front of the car if you are going fast enough
just kidding plenty of people only do the fronts since they do the majority of the stopping any way, but you might as well do the rears at same time for completeness.

Read the post above you. Proper bias is key for a complete package performance. Going to a front only bbk that's not properly designed can easily HURT performance vs help it.

Here's a little help on your research on why brake bias matters:

like redlude said, it depends on how the kit was designed. stoptech designs their front BBK to work with the stock rear brake systems so the bias should be fine.

you will have to check with the manufactures of the other kits to see if they were designed to be a stand alone front BBK or work in tandem with a rear BBK.

If you chance it, you can always try to play with rear bias by using a solid face rotor with a more agressive pad, but thats more of a track technique than a street fix.

so.....did those brake covers give you bias at all?

out of all the the choices you gave.......brembo has a kit designed to go with oem rear brembo, so its basically an upgraded front bbk.......since you dont have oem brembos....you can get that + a set of used rear oem brembos.....

anyways, if you have money for brand new front brembo big brakes, you should easily be able to find a used set of front and rear BBK for the same price.

i wouldnt run AP or JBT front only.....since as others have mentioned....your brake bias will be off..
