Brake temps is a tough one. Drilling a bunch of holes might allow the heat to dissapate faster but it won't PREVENT the rotor from heating up. It actually might heat UP faster and HOTTER because you just took out a bunch of mass that was helping the rotor absorb heat at a slower rate.
Imagine heating up a piece of scrape steel. (original rotor). Note how fast it heats up and how fast it cools down. Then note what it looks like after.
The imagine heating up a piece of wire. ie.. 18 ga for instance. (slotted/drilled rotor) Note the same as above.
What differences do you observe in between the two?
The rotors in a BBK are often times heavier than the stock ones. So even if the pad swept area is larger and it has a higher friction coefficient, you're trying to slow down more reciprocating mass. So you don't always get more stopping power even if you feel the additional brake torque.
But larger rotors and much larger calipers are more effective heat sinks with sustained heavy braking.
Besides, it doesn't matter how great your brakes are at slowing the wheels from spinning, its still totally depending on the tires.

I guess it's one of my pet peeves regarding all these mega big/20 piston bbk kits you see. All bling and no real data.
Only Stoptech and Racing Brake seem to offer any real explaination to their kit sizes, bias and tech ingo. I know AP makes high quality products also.
But the rest of these kits? Who knows? They're shiny I guess.
