HKS Hypermax III Street Review
UPDATE-HKS Hypermax III Street Review w/ PICS
First i must say that my sport stock suspension was completly blow and had been for a while with only 22k miles. I had a 3 finger gap in front, 2 on the passanger side rear, and 1 on the passanger rear. i had awful float when i hit a bump,etc...
Order & install: Clint at AAM got me the HKS suspension, and Dave at Function Tuned did the install. Both had the best prices around for their service and I was happy with both shops.
Drop:I went with a 1/2 drop all around, or a final result of a 1 finger gap around.
Review: These coilovers are perfect for what i need. I did not want anything extremly jarring or an overpriced coilover with minimal performance. They are exceptionally smooth on the street. Not jarring what so even on bumps. They are completely "wife/gf" friendly. The car feels alot more planted and smooth. I can go into turns at about 10-15mph quicker and not even question if i am going to loose traction. These paired with the hotchkis sway are a really nice combo. The float i had before is gone and there is NO noise from the suspension. Overall the car is alot more composed and stable. Perfect for the spirited driver who only has one car.

thats what im looking for also, how much did you get them for? also are the a true coilover, or just the coilover in the front and the adjustable perch that goes in the stock location in the rear?

I believe retail is $1,700
but if you're good you can get them for $1,400
Rate is (I think) around 10-12? these are stiffer then the RS..
Don't PM me, I'm not a HKS dealer =P

I've seen between 1.5k to over 2K for these retail
the rate I doubt is 10 12 due to the ride quality but I may be mistaken and I think that is for the track version. and frankly it doesn't really matter it an arbitrary number( due to damping forces affecting). I don't have the graphs for these coilovers. as I get more use to the suspension I am loving it more and more daily.

The III had full height adjustablity, the RS adjust's height via spring preload.
The III that I'm pretty sure was reviewed here has the same spring rates as the RS 504/504, the III sport uses 616/672 spring rates.
The III and the RS should use very simular valving rates in the dampers, though since HKS has never listed the RS on it's Japaneese web sight, we will never know for sure. The III sport will have valving that is going to be stiffer then the RS, no doubt in my mind about that.
IMO, the III replaces the RS and the III sport replaces the II. Interesting that a III CLX is not offered for the platform, so no LS replacement I guess.

The CLX isn't offered in Z33, CPV or V35 application's.
I only see HKS calling it the III, where did the term "III street" come from?
