shock wear w/H Tech vs. S Tech
So I've been debating which set of springs to get for a while now. I'm thinking that I'll just get both the front and rear camber kits as I'm planning on a coilover setup at a later time. I know people push for the S Techs because it's a much nicer drop, and I agree. However, I have 42K mi on my car and it's used for 90% daily driving on the freeway. The springs are mostly for looks and I want the camber to make sure I can keep the tires longer.
By keeping the OEM shocks, how much faster do they wear out by going with the S Techs vs the H Techs?

I'm not sure how much longer exactly but since youre planning on coilovers I'd just get the Stechs now..
If your shocks go out then just make the switch.
OR you can just go with coilovers from the beginning and save the hassle.

If you dont wanna wear out the shocks faster than go with the h techs, although h techs usually dont give people the "drop" they really want. but I mean if I were you i'd do what Ini said and just save and get the coilovers and save yourself the hassle.
also another unsatisfied 350z Htech owner here..hahah
Only reason i got the htechs over the stechs was because I didnt wanna bother with the front camber kit, but now after ~1/2 a year with them I am getting uneven tire wear....not to mention the wheel gaps

My only thing with "just getting coilovers" is that I don't just want to get a set of Basics and throw em on. If I get a set, I want to get a decent set where I can adjust the dampening also. That will run me a bit more, plus I'll 100% have to get the front camber kit as well. Suddenly a drop will go from ~$400 (springs + rear kit) to almost $2K. I also don't ever really intend on tracking the car so getting a whole set of coilovers almost seems like a waste to me.
I guess for me right now it's more about the look and setting off the rims I got. I kinda feel like I wouldn't fully utilize a set of coilovers. But the pro is that you get the adjustability. Hmmm... I just can't make up my damn mind!

But like you said, you dont really intend on tracking the car so how often will you be adjusting the shocks? You can always get a set of adjustable shocks like the d-specs if you want to adjust the dampening.
I have the s-techs for 20k+ miles already and OEM shocks are still good. I think it really depends on the road conditions...constantly driving over bumpy roads will kill it faster than driving on newly paved roads.
