Performed the OEM non-brembo brake upgrade to 06 Z brakes
Same as using the 05+ non-X / non-brembo brakes.
Okay. FINALLY made time to do the swap. Rear pads were just about toast so I decided to just get it over with
Some background information.
'03 and '04 Sedan, '04 and '05 Sedan X
Front: 11.7-inch X 0.9-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston
Rear: 11.5-inch X 0.6-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston
'05+ Sedan and Coupe, '06 Sedan X
Front: 12.6-inch X 1.1-inch power-assisted vented disc - 2 pistons
Rear: 12.1-inch X .63-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston
Rotor weights/ dia and thickness
06+ NON BREMBO BRAKE SIZE INFO.
Fronts: Rotor 21.5 lbs 12.6" dia 28mm thick (used)
Caliper piston dia. 43mm od / 35mm id x 2 pistons (didn't know which one you need but I'm guessing it's the od). I also rounded up to the nearest mm it was close to 43 and 35 anyway
Rears: Rotor 13 lbs 12": dia. 16mm thick (used)
Caliper piston dia: 38mm od 29.25 mm id.
Onto the pics
Front done: Don't mind the paint, it wears off. lol I also put on the Technafit SS lines all around
Technafit SS line front:
Process of trimming the rear dust shield and view of the Parking brake adjuster (star thingie)
Rear done and view of the vacuum brake bleeder.

You just have to make sure you get the 05+ rotors and pads with your 05+ calipers.

The best way it to look at the inside of the caliper and count the pistons. Some 2005s still have the 1 piston (as per my 1st post). the rears have the same caliper body (1 piston) but a different caliper torque member to accomodate the larger rotors the upgraded system uses.

It's almost impossible to determine if the stopping distances have changed or not. BUT. From data I have read though auto mag tests, the stopping distances for this setup is within 1ft or so of the earlier setup. Not impressive until you realize that 110-111 ft 60-0 is world class. And that this setup does it w/o the massive dust or premature wearing of rotors.
I paid $450 shipped for front/rear calipers, rotors, pads and lines (although I went w/ ss lines during the swap. The rotors and pads were essentially brand new so IMHO it was a great deal to me.
