sway bars for my application

I just bought a set of Tein S.Techs (350z) and a front and rear spc camber kit. What I'm basically trying to do is lower the car without really affecting the ride. (ride too stiff = angry gf ). Since I'm going to be going through all the trouble of changing out all these parts I was wondering if I should install sway bars at the same time.

I know sway bars are going to reduce the cars body roll, but how big of an impact do they have on the stiffness of the ride.

Thanks for the help!

The ride will be stiff wish S-techs (350Z) My friend had it and he said it was way to stiff for him. I have a full 350Z suspension from 350z and its defiantly a big difference in stiffness, i think H-techs would be a better ride quality since its for luxury ride but the handling won't be as great.

Assumming they are balanced and trimmed to match side to side ride height [no preload] sway bars are essentially transparent going straight. They act like stiffer springs only when the body rolls or you raise a tire across a differential road height [speed bump at an angle].

Normally the front bars are equal to spring stiffness [corrected for motion ratio] and rear bars are 1/2> 3/4 of rear spring stiffness [again corrected for motion ratio].

Many Oem use bars with rubber bushings to add progressivity, so that during the first 1" of bump or body roll the bars are isolated until bushings compress and only start resisting [fully] in the 2nd and 3rd inch, Much like progressive springs stiffen with body roll amount and passenger weight.

So it sounds like I need to get the right sway bars to match my application. How do I figure out which sway bars would be correct?

Is your question "Do I need G35 Sedan sways or 350Z sways" or "Should I get Stillen or Hotchkis sways"?

there is no correct or incorrect aftermarket part for this car. If that were the case, those "incorrect" brands would not be in the market.

I assume I would be getting g35 coupe sway bars, so the question then would be which brand of aftermarket sway bars would compliment my set up best?

I had Hotchkis sway bars on my camaro and i liked them a lot. But would they be best for my setup on the g?

You should find what you need here:

May require some digging.

i recommend hotchkis sways. i have it installed in my car and its the best bang for you buck mod pretty much eliminated body roll. Just make sure before you install it soak the bolts of the endlinks w/ WD40 first coz i didnt and its a PAIN to take out.
Also if you have extra $$$ you can buy aftermarket shocks(tokico, kyb, etc..)

OK thanks for the tips! Do I need aftermarket endlinks? Would it be bad if I re-used the stock ones?

I've been reading quite a bit, and I'm kind of worried about my choice of springs. I'm thinking maybe I should have gone with the g35 s.techs instead of the 350z ones. I think the combination of the sway bars and z s.techs will make the ride too stiff..
